My Final Project

I am sad to say this is my final project because I’ve had a blast this year but I must move on I will continue on my work in my spare time and reminisce about the times I’ve had I will miss Mr. Leduc (but not most of this class) and I must move on.  But enough with the sentiments,  it’s time to get down to business!

Here are some pictures for some of my games:

Jounal Entry 8: Making another game in Blender

Filed under: Uncategorized —— Chris @ 11:19 am

Today I continued to research Blender. I Google’d more sites but haven’t found any examples of what I’m looking for or explanations. I have started searching for ways to finish my game (which is about a person going inside someone’s body that you can explore and go through). I’ve learned how to make things like guts and a stomach but I am having problems with my game so I’ve posted a question on a forum and I am waiting for an answer.

Jounal Entry 7: Making an FPS in Blender

Filed under: Uncategorized —— Chris @ 11:56 am

Today I continued to research ways to make my blender game better. I am making a FPS in Blender (which by the way is the ultimate challenge besides an TPS) and I have been experimenting to make my games better and I am working on making better enemies as well as making a car the your character can enter and drive. When you have learned as much as I have and become fairly advanced it’s hard to find data for specific questions. I will continue to work until I have a good game. I will continue to work until I have a game that I can present to the class.

Jounal Entry Project 6: Continuing with blender, learning about health bars

Filed under: Uncategorized —— Chris @ 11:40 am

Today I continued to work with Blender.  I wanted to learn how to make health bar so I googled many sites and found some examples and explanations. I then started searching experimenting to see if I could make it work.  I learned how to make ordinary health bars and how to make it so that you would die after a certain number of hits.  I will continue working until I have a working FPS or 3rdPS.

Project 5 Self Evaluation Continuing With Blender

Filed under: Uncategorized —— Chris @ 11:32 am

My 5th project was continuing to work with blender. I made a 2 player tank game, a one player tank game, a turret game, started on a plat former, continued fixing the physics on my car game and added to my “Mr. Cube” game.  One problem I overcame was making something shoot a bullet properly and editing parts of a single object so that they don’t fight each other.  I learned how to make something shoot a bullet and I learned some stuff about python script.

Journal Entry 5 continuing with Blender 3D

Filed under: Uncategorized —— Chris @ 12:02 pm

Today I continued to work with blender. I Googled many sites and found some data of but I’ve gotten to the point where my questions are so specific and complex that there isn’t much data on them. I’ve kept trying and I am progressing (slowly) and searching for solutions and experimenting within the program.  Searching for answers has become a pain but I will continue.  So far, I have made a game with an animated car and a game (the physics need some tweaking) and a game with a walking character (I’ve named him “Mr. Cube”) I want to combine the games so that Mr. Cube can get in the car as well as fix the physics on the car and eventually turn it into a shooter.

Project 5: Learning Blender 3D’s Game Plan

Filed under: Uncategorized —— Chris @ 11:56 am

Plan:

  • I plan to explore how to make games in Blender 3D. I will find try to find an example of how to make a shooter and try to make one myself.  I will show my projects to anyone who wants to see them and teach anyone who wants to learn.  I will also show the class my game and give a short explanation about it.  Through my work I will learn more about:
    • Armatures
    • Logic
    • The Game Engine
    • Animating movements in the game engine
    • Assigning Multiple actions

Time Line:

    • Continue to Research game engine animation
    • Create Multiple armature actions
    • Make my character walk without problems
    • Continue to work on my character and sort out problems and glitches
    • Be Proud and Show off

Resources:

  • List at least three resources that help you learn more about your topic
  • Write a brief description why this is a good learning resource

Project 4 Self Evaluation

Filed under: Uncategorized —— Chris @ 11:56 am

I have continued to work with Blender 3D and have mastered the modeling aspect of it (well almost). I have worked on the animation part of it but it is tricky to say the least. I am currently working on the game aspect and I can make an object move in a 3D space. Again, I will continue to work on it. I made a game that I call “Move Cube” that’s stupidly simple and ridiculously addicting. In my spare time I have upgraded my game into “Super Cube” where there are platforms and you can fly (sort of) I am also going to try and learn how to make a character that makes animated movements when you control it in the game.

Here’s a screen shot:

Project 4 Update

Filed under: Uncategorized —— Chris @ 11:59 am

I have been working on a bird thing since I now know how to use edit mode.  It’s funny looking but that’s how it’s supposed to be.  I learned how to add colors and I’m working on textures for landscapes and feathers.  I am currently adding wings and will continue to work until I’m mostly satisfied.
